We started with a refusal.

Walk into most jewellery shops and you are sold an occasion. Something for the wedding, the birthday, the anniversary. Worn once, photographed, then returned to its box.

We think that is backwards. A piece you only wear on special days is not part of your life — it is a costume you borrow from yourself.

So we set ourselves a hard rule: RUVA only makes pieces you would forget you are wearing. Light enough to sleep in. Simple enough to wear to work. Sturdy enough to stop thinking about.

That rule rejects a lot of jewellery. Anything that snags. Anything that demands a special occasion. Anything you would take off before washing your hands. What survives is a very short list — and that list is the collection.

We are based in Canada and we are small. That is not an apology — it is why we can say no.

Nothing goes out because a season demands it. Each piece is held back until it passes the rule. Some never make it out of samples. The ones that do are meant to be worn for years, not months.

The first full collection launches in November 2026. It is being chosen piece by piece right now, against the same rule.
